What motivates me at SIM - Chiara

At SIM, there are projects and commitments... but above all, there are people. Through the series of portraits entitled ‘What motivates me’, we would like to introduce you to the women and men who make up the SIM Switzerland team, their backgrounds and what motivates them on a daily basis.

Today we invite you to meet Chiara, administrative intern at SIM Switzerland.

Can you introduce yourself and explain your role at SIM Switzerland?

My name is Chiara, I live in Ins and work in the secretariat. My responsibilities include answering phone calls, handling emails, welcoming visitors, and managing calendars and meeting minutes.

What was your background before joining SIM?

After attending a commercial high school, I deliberately sought to gain practical experience and found this through an internship at SIM.

Why did you choose to work at SIM?

I am fascinated by the cultural work across different continents. I am particularly impressed by the impact of our work, which supports the missionaries and thus helps to transform lives.

What motivates you most in your work today?

I particularly appreciate working alongside missionaries, supporting them through my office work while they carry out their service directly in the field. Hearing encouraging stories of forgiveness, healing, and transformation always inspires me as well.

At SIM Switzerland, everyone contributes in their own way, drawing on their skills and experience. See you next week to meet another member of the team!
